Rhinoplasty Patient – Chicago, IL
This young man sought consultation due to dissatisfaction with the aesthetic appearance of his nose and concurrent difficulty breathing. His primary concerns included the overall shape of his nose, a noticeable crookedness, and the presence of a prominent nasal dorsal hump. Following a series of thorough consultations to discuss his goals and assess his nasal anatomy, an open functional septorhinoplasty procedure was performed.
During the surgical intervention, a comprehensive large dorsal hump reduction was meticulously carried out to address the patient’s aesthetic concerns. To improve his airway and alleviate breathing difficulties, a septoplasty was performed, augmented by the placement of septal spreader cartilage grafts. Additionally, low-to-low nasal bone osteotomies were executed to refine the nasal bridge and achieve a more harmonious profile. Tip-defining sutures were strategically placed to sculpt and enhance the nasal tip, and weir alar base reductions were performed to narrow and refine the base of the nose. Post-operatively, the patient experienced a smooth recovery and expressed significant satisfaction with the improved appearance and functionality of his new nose.
